Funny Cows Are “In” Again
October 3, 2007We always knew cows were funny looking animals. Perhaps we never knew just how funny until Gary Larson reminded us several decades ago with The Far Side.
Sadly, the wonderful Far Side is gone.
But funny cows are “back in style” says cartoonist Rick London, creator of Londons Times Cartoons and various stores such as Rick Londonwear www.ricklondonwear.com.

London says that the media has it totally wrong. They say that “sex sells”. He adds, “Well maybe so, but if you put sex and cows next to each other, head to head, it’s an udder toss up.”
He says he never knew cows were still funny, but when he looked at his ledger for September he noticed his cow t-shirts, mousepads, tote bags and other funny cow gifts and collectibles were slightly ahead of attorney humor items (which are very big sellers).
London is known to sometimes make “cow celebrities” such as Bovinna, The Mooterial Girl and Bruce Holstein into images that are on his items in addition to funny generic cow cartoons.
London says, “I have nothing against these celebrities, in fact I admire and salute them. It just so happens their names lend themselves to cow humor, and I love to play with words. I certainly don’t think of Bruce Springsteen or Madonna as cows. Weasels maybe but never a cow,” he jokes, but adds, “Just kidding about the weasels; they are superb and talented entertainers.
